Announcing the Mediterranean Island Cleantech Innovation Ecosystem

On July 5-6, the kick-off meeting of the Mediterranean Island Cleantech Innovation Ecosystem [MICIE] project took place in Limassol (Cyprus). The project has a duration of 18 months, and is co-financed by the EU Commission, through the Horizon Europe programme.

The ultimate goal of the project is the preparation of Action Plans for research and innovation which will support Cyprus and Malta address the challenges they face in achieving their national Energy and Climate goals.

The Action Plans will be developed jointly with local key actors, including the members of the project consortium:

  • Representing Cyprus: Cyprus University of Technology (Project Coordinator), Deputy Ministry of Innovation & Digital Policy, Cyprus Energy Agency, Federation of Employers & Industrialists
  • Representing Malta: Malta College of Arts Science & Technology, The Malta Chamber, Energy and Water Authority
  • Representing the Netherlands: Climate-KIC holding BV
